Chicken Tikka Handi Ingredients
Paprika powder 1 tbs
Kali mirch powder (Black pepper powder) 1 tsp
Garam masala powder 1 tsp
Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) ½ tsp
Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste
Jaifil & Javatri powder (Nutmeg & Mace powder) ¼ tsp
Dhania powder (Coriander powder) 2 tsp
Zeera powder (Cumin powder) 1 & ½ tsp
Chaat masala 1 tsp
Lehsan powder (Garlic powder) 1 & ½ tsp
Chkn 1/2 kg
Prepared spice mix 2 tbs
Lemon juice 2 tbs
Zarda ka rang (Yellow food color) ¼ tsp
Dahi (Yogurt) 1 Cup (room temperature)
Pyaz (Onion) grinded 1 medium
Tomato puree 2 tbs
Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) 1 tbs
Lal Mirch (Red chili) crushed 1 tsp or to taste
Mustard oil 1 cup
Cheddar cheese grated 2 tbs (optional)
Cream 1 tbs
Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped
Adrak (Ginger) julienne
Chicken Tikka Handi preparation method
In bowl,add paprika powder,black pepper powder,garam masala powder,turmeric powder,salt,nutmeg & mace powder,coriander powder,cumin powder,chaat masala,garlic powder,mix well & set aside.
Cut chicken in cubes
In a bowl, add chicken boneless cubes,2 tbs of prepared spice mix, lemon juice, yellow food color, mix well and marinate for 30 minutes.
In yogurt, add ground onion, tomato puree, ginger garlic paste, red chili crushed and remaining spice mix, mix well & set aside.
In a pot, add mustard oil, marinated chicken, mix well and cook for 10-12 minutes or until oil separates.
Now add spiced yogurt and mix well, cover and cook on low flame for 6-8 minutes.
Add cheddar cheese and mix well.
Add cream and mix well, cover and simmer on low flame for 2 minutes.
Garnish with fresh coriander and ginger & serve.
