Malka Masoor / Kaali Daal

1 Kaali daal 1 1/2 cup
2 Lal mirch 1 tsp or to taste
3 Salt
4 Tomato 1 medium
5 Hari mirch 5 to 6
6 Zeera 1/2 tsp
7 Haldi 1/2 tsp
8. immli pulp 1/4 cup or to taste
Tarka
Oil 1/4 cup
Onion 1 small
Hari mirch 4 to 5
Garlic 4 to 5
Zeera 1 tsp
Gole lal mirch 8 to 10
Soak daal for half an hour then boil with ingredients 1 to 7 with enough water. When it's done, check the consistency as it should not be very thick nor very runny. Add imli pulp and cook for 15 min. Add pudina ( I didn't have it)
Now prepare tarka. I always like to give 2 baghar to my daals. It enhances the taste. First with garlic, zeera and button red chilies. 2nd with onion. Give baghar in 2 steps using half oil each time. Enjoy with plain or zeera rice.
