Chanay ki Daal ka Halwa
1 kg Channa daal
750 grams sugar
2 liters milk
5-7 green cardamoms
250 grams almonds slivered
1/2 teaspoon Kewra water
250 grams Ghee
Chanay ki Daal ka Halwa method
Saok daal in water for two hours. Then discard water and put daal milk in a pot and let cook on medium-low heat. Add broken cardamom seeds in it too stirring occasionally.
Once the milk dries and daal is tender transfer the mixture to a blender and blend into a smooth paste.
Heat ghee in a wok and add a few cardamom seeds. Add in the blended daal and bhonofy till it reaches a golden brown colour. Add in sugar and continue to stir. Do not stop stirring till halwa reaches a rich brown roasted colour and begins to gather together in the centre and leaves the sides of the pan.
