Modern fettuccine Alfredo was invented by Alfredo di Lelio in Rome. In 1892 Alfredo’s mother Angelina run the Piazza which was located in Rosa. The mouth watering fettuccine are seasoned with plenty of butter and fat parmesan, it is then mixed and the white threads of cheese gilded with butter and the bright yellow of the ribbons of egg pasta.

Ingredients for Creamy Shrimp Alfredo Pasta:

fettuccine or penne pasta  3/4 lb
Shrimp 1 lb, peeled and deveined
Salt ½ tsp
Paprika ¼ tsp
Black pepper ¼ tsp
Oil 1 Tbsp
Onion 1 small, finely chopped
Butter 2 Tbsp
Garlic clove 1 chopped
white wine 1/3 cup (Ste Chapelle Chardonnay )
Heavy whipping cream 2 cups
parmesan cheese 1/3 cup
Salt and pepper to taste
Sprinkle of paprika
Parsley or basil for garnish if desired

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo Preparation Method:

  • Boil pasta with ½ tsp of salt
  • Marinate shrimps with salt, paprika, and black pepper and keep for 10 minutes
  • Then in a pan add 1 tbsp oil, once the oil is hot add the shrimps in a single layer,
  • After 2min turn the sides and cook on the other side.
  • Take out the shrimps from a pan and add butter 2tbsp and ¼ cup chopped onion.
  • As the onion changes color add 1 chopped garlic clove.
  • Add white wine and mix.
  • When the liquid has mostly evaporated add cream and mix.
  • As the cream mixture simmers add the grated parmesan cheese. Do not boil just stir and the sauce is ready.
  • Sprinkle parsley, basil, and black pepper.
  • Add boil pasta and shrimps and mix until the alfredo sauce is perfectly coated.

  • In the end, sprinkle chopped parsley and cheese and serve.
