Beef Chili Dry Recipe - How To Make Beef Chili Dry

Beef Chili Dry dating back to the 1850s defines dried beef, suet, dried chili peppers, and salt, which were crushed together, twisted into bricks, and left to dry, which could then be simmered in pots in an army encampment in Monterrey, of what is now Nuevo León, Mexico.

Ingredients for Beef Chili Dry
Beef undercut thin slices – 500 gm
Egg – 1
Baking powder – ½ tsp
Sugar – 1 tsp
Salt – 1/3 tsp
Black pepper – 1/3 tsp
Soya sauce – 1tsp
Dark soya sauce – 1 tsp
Corn flour – 2tbsp
Red Bell pepper (capsicum) – 1 inch
Green Bell pepper (capsicum) – 1 inch
Green chilies – 4 1 inch long cut
Ginger – 1-inch piece
Oil – 1tbsp
Garlic – 1tbsp chopped
Sweet chili sauce – 1tbsp
Brown Hp sauce – 1tsp
Worcestershire sauce – 1 tsp
Dark soya sauce – 1 tsp
Oyster sauce – 1tbsp
Salt – 1/3 tsp
Red chili sauce – 1tsp
Sugar – ½ tsp
Sesame oil – ½ tsp

Beef Chili Dry Preparation Method
  • In a bowl take egg and add baking powder, sugar, salt, black pepper, dark soya sauce and mix well and add the thin sliced undercut beef and mix well.
  • Add corn flour to the beef and mix well and keep aside for some time.
  • Cut red bell pepper (red capsicum) , green capsicum, green chilies and ginger into 1 inch length.
  • Now deep fry marinated beef for 5minutes until the beef gets golden colour.
  • Take wok and add oil and add garlic chopped and add vegies and mix well on high flame and add 1tbsp water mix for a minute.
  • Add sweet chili sauce, brown Hp sauce, Worcestershire sauce, dark soya sauce, oyster sauce 2 tbsp, salt, red chili sauce mix and add 2tbsp water.
  • Add fried beef and mix well, and add sesame oil
  • Beef Chili dry is ready just garnish with green onions and serve with vegetable fried rice.
  • Serves 3- 4
